This browser can't run the compressor. Reading GIF frames in JavaScript needs Chrome, Edge, Opera or another Chromium-based browser — Safari and Firefox don't expose that yet. Open this page in Chrome or Edge instead of using a tool that won't work here.
Three plain, size-reducing steps, no AI involved:
A GIF that's already small, already low on colors, or short on frames doesn't have much left to give up. If "Keep original width" and "Keep every frame" come back about the same size (or bigger), that's the tool being honest rather than broken — pick a smaller width or drop frames and it will shrink for real.
Reading the individual frames out of an existing GIF needs a browser feature (WebCodecs' image decoder) that Chrome, Edge, Opera and other Chromium-based browsers have and Safari and Firefox currently don't. On an unsupported browser this page says so plainly instead of showing a button that would fail silently.

Chrome, Edge, Opera and other Chromium-based browsers, because it relies on the browser's own GIF frame decoder. Safari and Firefox don't expose that yet, so on those you'll see a plain message instead of a broken button.
Three levers, all optional: a smaller width, keeping fewer frames, and a fixed, smaller color palette with dithering instead of the GIF's original colors. You choose the first two; the palette reduction always applies.
Usually, but not always. A GIF that is already small or simple, kept at its original width and frame count, can end up about the same size or slightly bigger — the tool tells you the before-and-after size so you can see for yourself and pick a smaller width if it didn't help.
